Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Occupational Therapist license valid in Connecticut
  • Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation abilities
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with teachers, support staff, and families
  • Familiarity with IEPs, assessments, and therapeutic interventions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students motor, sensory, and self-help needs
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on each students requirements and educational objectives
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, individually and in small groups
  • Consult with classroom teachers and staff to incorporate therapeutic strategies into the learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the development and monitoring of IEP goals
  • Communicate progress to families and participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Stay updated on best practices and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations
