Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license, with eligibility to practice in Alaska
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy plans for students of various ages and diagnoses
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with educators, families, and other specialists
- Flexible, organized, and capable of managing a diverse caseload
- Passion for empowering children to overcome barriers and achieve academic success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct student evaluations to identify needs and develop personalized therapy interventions
- Provide direct occupational therapy services, both individually and in small group settings within schools
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to support student progress and integrate therapy goals into daily routines
- Document progress, maintain records, and prepare required reports in a timely manner
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams
- Remain current with best practices and ongoing professional development within school-based occupational therapy
