Make an impact by providing essential occupational therapy services to students during the Extended School Year (ESY) in a south-downriver suburb of Detroit. This contract opportunity is ideal for a credentialed Occupational Therapist experienced in school-based, home health, and healthcare settings. With a focused caseload in an itinerant capacity, your expertise will help students thrive and maintain progress over the summer months.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and credentialed Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Background in school-based OT, home health, or healthcare environments
- Familiarity with delivering services to diverse student populations
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable working in a flexible, multi-site arrangement
- Experience with IEP systems preferred; training available
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services for students as outlined in their IEPs
- Serve multiple school sites, supporting students utilizing a caseload model
- Collaborate with educational staff and guardians to maximize student participation and independence
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in alignment with district protocols
- Attend paid team meetings and allocate indirect hours for administrative tasks
- Ensure high-quality services while adapting to a still-registering caseload
Role Details:
- Dates: July 7th August 6th
- Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 8:00 am 12:00 pm
- Contract position with paid travel for itinerant assignments
- Support provided for IEP documentation; dedicated therapy space available
