This role involves working approximately 37.5 hours per week, providing hands-on therapy across one or more school settings (specifics to be determined). You will be a vital resource in helping students of varying ages and disabilities achieve their goals, develop essential skills, and participate fully in their school experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois or eligibility to obtain it
- Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or educational setting is strongly preferred
- Understanding of a variety of disabilities and experience tailoring interventions accordingly
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with IEPs, progress monitoring, and documentation in a school context
- Commitment to evidence-based, student-focused practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct OT services to students based on their unique needs
- Maintain accurate records, evaluations, and documentation in compliance with school and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families on strategies and modifications
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to development of student-specific goals
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
