Step into a meaningful role supporting student success as a school-based Occupational Therapist in the vibrant San Fernando Valley. This on-site, full-time contract position runs from August 11, 2026, through June 4, 2027, offering the chance to work directly with K-12 students across varied campuses. Caseloads and school assignments may differ and can include itinerant responsibilities, giving you exposure to diverse learning environments.

The ideal candidate brings experience or familiarity working as an OT within academic settings and understands the intricacies of special education and the unique needs of school-aged children. Familiarity with education-specific terminology, standardized assessments, and the IEP process is important for success in this role. Professionals who are self-sufficient and able to thrive with limited supervision will shine in this setting.

Requirements and Desired Qualifications:

  • Active and current Occupational Therapist license in California
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience in K-12 educational environments preferred
  • Solid knowledge of the Special Education process and standardized assessment tools
  • Able to interpret and use education-specific terminology and documentation effectively
  • Comfort working independently and managing a varied caseload
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and deliver OT services to students from kindergarten through high school
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and district staff
  • Conduct and interpret evaluations, and maintain thorough, timely records
  • Travel between campuses as needed, adapting to various school site cultures
