Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Kansas
- Masters degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and the ability to contribute to student accommodations
- Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and families
- Knowledgeable in providing both direct therapy and consultative services
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students needs and develop individualized therapy plans
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students, focusing on motor skills, sensory integration, and adaptive behaviors
- Participate as a vital member of the IEP team, offering input and recommendations to support student learning
- Maintain detailed and accurate records, including evaluation reports, progress notes, and documentation required by the school and district
- Educate staff and families about strategies and accommodations that foster student independence and success
- Adapt therapy activities and techniques to meet diverse student needs within both individual and group settings
