Job Description

A full-time Occupational Therapist opportunity is available at a school located in Texico, NM, serving primarily elementary students. This position involves working approximately 37.5 hours per week on-site, providing comprehensive therapy services to about 30 students on the caseload. Candidates with prior school-based experience are highly preferred to ensure effective support across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs, focusing primarily on elementary-aged children.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other related service providers to develop and implement appropriate therapy goals and intervention plans.
  • Conduct evaluations, document progress, and maintain accurate records following school policies and state guidelines.
  • Support students participation in academic and extracurricular activities by addressing fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license with credentials suitable for school-based practice.
  • Experience working in an educational setting is strongly preferred, particularly with elementary-aged students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 30 students with varied needs.
