Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of South Dakota (or eligibility to obtain)
• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Previous experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of IEP process and documentation requirements
• Able to adapt therapy techniques to diverse learning needs and environments

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students with various needs
• Provide direct and consultative OT services to help students increase independence and academic participation
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress and advocate for appropriate accommodations
• Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to team discussions
• Educate staff and families on occupational therapy strategies and promote awareness of students needs
