Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of South Dakota (or eligibility to obtain)
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Previous experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of IEP process and documentation requirements
- Able to adapt therapy techniques to diverse learning needs and environments
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students with various needs
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to help students increase independence and academic participation
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress and advocate for appropriate accommodations
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to team discussions
- Educate staff and families on occupational therapy strategies and promote awareness of students needs
