Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their development as a School Occupational Therapist on a full-time, contract basis near Sterling Heights, MI. This opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year (tentative dates: August 17, 2026, to June 11, 2027), working 35 hours per week with K-12 students. Two positions are available, offering a dynamic environment for collaborative and impactful practice.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Michigan OT license required (please provide a screenshot for verification; see state licensing website).
- Previous school-based occupational therapy experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric OT principles and current best practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Adaptability and problem-solving abilities for diverse school settings.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in K-12 with diverse abilities.
- Evaluate students and develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and legal guidelines.
- Support development of fine motor, sensory processing, and functional life skills in the school setting.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to integrate OT goals into classroom activities.
- Participate in IEP meetings to ensure student needs are addressed and progress is communicated.
