Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Connecticut
- Masters degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
- Understanding of IEP processes and documentation standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and classroom environments
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students motor, sensory, and adaptive needs within the educational environment
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions
- Provide direct therapy services using evidence-based practices
- Document progress and maintain accurate records according to school district policies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting for student progress
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support student development across educational settings
- Consult regularly with teachers and other service providers to integrate therapeutic goals in classroom activities
