Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Michigan (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to assess, create, and implement individualized treatment plans
- Knowledge of sensory integration, fine and gross motor development, and assistive technology is a plus
- Organizational skills to manage caseload, documentation, and scheduling
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to identify students strengths and areas for improvement
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans that align with educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student progress
- Provide direct therapy services in individual and group settings
- Document treatment sessions, maintain accurate reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Offer recommendations for adapting classroom materials or environments to promote student success
