Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a therapeutic day school serving students in grades K8. The OT will support students with a variety of developmental, sensory, motor, behavioral, and functional needs to help them access and participate successfully in the educational environment.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with teachers, related service providers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student independence, regulation, and participation throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations for K8 students
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services
  • Support students with fine motor, sensory processing, visual motor, self-regulation, handwriting, and daily living skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, behavioral staff, administrators, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Maintain accurate documentation, therapy notes, progress reports, and compliance records
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, classroom accommodations, and sensory strategies as appropriate
  • Monitor student progress and modify intervention plans as needed
  • Promote student participation, independence, engagement, and functional success within the school setting

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Active state OT license
  • Previous pediatric, school-based, or therapeutic day school experience preferred
  • Experience working with students with behavioral, emotional, developmental, or sensory needs preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Compensation for this position ranges from $30.00 to $55.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
