Make a meaningful impact on students lives by providing occupational therapy services within a vibrant school community near Santa Fe, NM. This full-time, in-person contract position spans 37.5 hours per week and centers on supporting a caseload of approximately 30 students, primarily at the elementary level, with some involvement at the middle and high school levels.
Your strong background in pediatric therapy, combined with school-based experience, will help foster independence and participation among students with diverse needs. Youll collaborate closely with educators, families, and other related service professionals to deliver personalized interventions that truly make a difference.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) eligible for New Mexico school certification
- Prior experience in a school setting is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working with elementary, middle, and high school students
- Skilled at adapting interventions for diverse learning and physical needs
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for students of various backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students to develop tailored OT programs
- Provide direct therapy services to students in one-on-one or group settings
- Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to integrate OT strategies into classroom routines
- Track student progress, maintain clear documentation, and attend IEP meetings as required
- Engage with families to share strategies and promote carryover of skills at home
- Consult with multidisciplinary team members to optimize student outcomes
