Job Description

Step into a dynamic school-based setting and make a difference supporting students through occupational therapy! This full-time, contract opportunity near Santa Fe, NM involves working in-person, 37.5 hours per week, across elementary, middle, and high school settings, with a primary focus on an elementary caseload of approximately 30 students. Youll be an essential member of the educational team, enhancing students abilities to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in New Mexico
  • Experience working in schoolsespecially elementarystrongly preferred
  • Familiarity with educational evaluation tools, IEPs, and school-based interventions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and families
  • Organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation efficiently
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with other professionals
  • Genuine passion for improving the lives and outcomes of diverse learners

What Youll Do:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to students, focusing on fine motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, and daily living skills
  • Assess students needs and develop effective, individualized treatment plans
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and collaboration with staff and families
  • Maintain detailed documentation of evaluations, goals, progress reports, and service delivery in accordance with school and regulatory requirements
  • Support classroom teachers with strategies and accommodations to facilitate student participation and success
  • Travel between school buildings as needed within the district
