A school district in the San Diego area is looking to hire a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time contract position. In this role, you will support students in developing the functional skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. This position is ideal for a therapist who values collaboration and is committed to helping children reach their full potential through individualized care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students fine motor, sensory processing, and functional performance skills
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services
  • Adapt classroom environments and recommend assistive equipment as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families
  • Monitor student progress and maintain compliant documentation

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to assess and address sensory and motor-based challenges
  • Effective documentation and organizational abilities
  • Knowledge of school-based therapy models and best practices
  • Creative problem-solving and adaptability in a school setting

Qualifications

  • Active California Occupational Therapist license
  • NBCOT certification required
  • School-based experience preferred but not required
  • Understanding of IEP processes and educational regulations

Education

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or related field

Experience

  • Prior experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
  • New graduates with fieldwork experience encouraged to apply

Work Hours

  • 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
  • 37.5 hours per week
Compensation for this position ranges from $38.00 to $70.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
