A school district in the San Diego area is looking to hire a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time contract position. In this role, you will support students in developing the functional skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. This position is ideal for a therapist who values collaboration and is committed to helping children reach their full potential through individualized care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate students fine motor, sensory processing, and functional performance skills
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services
- Adapt classroom environments and recommend assistive equipment as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain compliant documentation
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to assess and address sensory and motor-based challenges
- Effective documentation and organizational abilities
- Knowledge of school-based therapy models and best practices
- Creative problem-solving and adaptability in a school setting
Qualifications
- Active California Occupational Therapist license
- NBCOT certification required
- School-based experience preferred but not required
- Understanding of IEP processes and educational regulations
Education
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
Experience
- Prior experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
- New graduates with fieldwork experience encouraged to apply

Work Hours
- 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
- 37.5 hours per week
