Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Prior experience working with school-aged children or within educational environments
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Aptitude for collaboration with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to identify occupational therapy needs and create tailored intervention strategies
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services as outlined in student IEPs
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including assessments, progress notes, and reports for students
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering guidance for student goals and accommodations
- Educate and guide teachers and support staff in strategies to meet students functional needs
- Facilitate adaptive equipment recommendations and modifications to classrooms as necessary
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe environment that encourages student participation and independence
