A contract Occupational Therapist opportunity is available in San Diego, CA, providing valuable support within a school setting. This role is perfect for a licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in pediatric and educational environments who is passionate about helping children achieve their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for students to identify needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement evidence-based interventions to improve students functional abilities in academic and daily living activities
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and integrate therapy goals into classroom activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and reports in compliance with school policies and state regulations
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute therapeutic insights and recommendations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license with experience in school-based practice
- Knowledge of pediatric developmental milestones and therapeutic techniques appropriate for school-age children
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with school laws and regulations related to special education and therapy services
