Job Description

Step into a rewarding role supporting students and educational teams through the practice of occupational therapy in an engaging school-based setting. This contract opportunity involves providing OT services in one building, serving a diverse caseload of 20-40 students (setting 4), with positions available for two full-time therapists and one long-term substitute covering the first several months of the school year (exact dates to be determined). The position begins on September 8, 2026, and continues through June 10, 2027, offering consistency throughout the academic year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid Occupational Therapist license/certification appropriate for school-based practice in Minnesota
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in school environments is highly preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Ability to manage a moderate caseload efficiently and adapt services to meet individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with best practices for supporting students with mild to moderate to intensive needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students in alignment with IEP objectives
  • Complete necessary documentation, progress notes, and participate in IEP meetings as required
  • Collaborate with special education and general education staff to promote student success across environments
  • Develop and implement therapy interventions that support student independence, participation, and engagement in the classroom
  • Engage with families, sharing progress and strategies to foster skills at home and in the community
