Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist working with K-12 students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offers the chance to support and empower approximately 40 students in an onsite, collaborative educational environment. You will play an essential role in fostering students independence and helping them reach their fullest potential.
Preferred experience and necessary qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Expertise in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse K-12 caseload
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Collaborative approach to working with teachers, families, and school staff
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to inform treatment planning
- Develop and facilitate engaging, meaningful therapeutic interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams
- Educate families and staff regarding adaptive strategies and accommodations
- Support and guide students in improving fine and gross motor skills, adaptive behaviors, and sensory processing
