Occupational Therapist School Setting
Location: Rio Rancho, NM (Onsite)
Contract Duration: Immediate start through 5/29/2026
Position Type: Full-time

An opportunity exists for a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide essential services in a school setting within Rio Rancho, NM. This role involves working with students across multiple schools, supporting development and participation through both direct therapy and collaborative consultations. The position is onsite and requires commitment to full-time hours during the contract period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver itinerant OT services across two elementary schools, managing caseloads of approximately 11-12 students per school.
  • Serve a high school with a caseload of 17-18 students, addressing diverse occupational therapy needs.
  • Support the districts Autism program by providing direct and indirect services off campus.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to provide consultative support and facilitate student progress.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs and educational goals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license approved for practice in New Mexico.
  • Experience working in school-based occupational therapy, preferably with itinerant caseloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to support students with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental challenges.
  • Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration with educators and families.
  • Ability to manage multiple caseloads and provide both direct and consultative services.
