Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a dedicated school-based Occupational Therapist near Rio Rancho, NM. From now through the end of May 2026, youll have the meaningful role of guiding students toward greater independence and academic success. This position offers the chance to serve across two elementary sites, each with 11-12 students, as well as a high school with a caseload of 17-18, in addition to collaborating with an Autism-focused program in the district. Your expertise will shape services both directly with students and indirectly through teacher consultationmaking a lasting impact every day.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist license is required
- Experience working in school settings, particularly as an itinerant OT, is highly valued
- Familiarity with providing therapy services to students across elementary and high school levels
- Strong collaboration skills for consulting with teachers and staff
- Comfort with a diverse caseload, including students in specialized Autism programs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students in both individual and group settings
- Schedule and conduct onsite therapy sessions, adapting interventions to meet IEP goals
- Offer consultative support and expertise to teaching staff regarding student needs and accommodations
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation in accordance with district and regulatory guidelines
- Participate as a valued member of multidisciplinary team meetings
- Travel between assigned locations as needed
