An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide essential therapeutic services within a school setting. This contract position is located in Rapid City, SD, offering a chance to support students in achieving their functional and educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students developmental, sensory, and motor skills to identify needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each students goals
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students progress
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions to enhance students participation and performance
- Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports in compliance with school policies
- Participate in student team meetings and assist in planning accommodations or modifications as needed
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with current certification and credentials to practice
- Experience working in school-based settings is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric therapy principles and educational accommodations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families
- Ability to manage caseloads and prioritize tasks efficiently in a contractual role
- Knowledge of IDEA and other relevant regulations supporting students with disabilities
