Job Description

This full-time, on-site contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with diverse student populations across elementary, middle, and high school levels on the western side of the district. The role begins 30 days after offer acceptance, aligning with a year-round track and a robust workload model, ensuring manageable caseloads and regular reassessment of assignments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license issued by the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy highly preferred
  • Demonstrated, recent experience in school-based occupational therapy; prior experience in North Carolina schools is a significant asset
  • In-depth knowledge and practical use of ECATS and IEPs in educational settings
  • Proficiency in motor screenings, functional OT evaluations, and the use of school-based standardized assessments
  • Skilled in administering and interpreting the Sensory Processing Measure2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2 within an educational framework
  • Understanding of interpreting therapy assessment results as they relate to state standards and educational programs
  • Ability to secure an NPI number, register with NC Tracks, and complete all required background checks including DCDEE fingerprinting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative OT services in alignment with IEP goals
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop intervention plans, and maintain documentation for compliance
  • Collaborate closely with educators, families, and related service providers to promote student success in the school environment
  • Adapt interventions in real time based on ongoing case load/workload reviews
