Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active state license as an OT
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators and families
- Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills to address varying student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as specified in their IEPs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to achieve educational and developmental goals
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to facilitate student success
- Assess sensory, motor, and functional skills to recommend appropriate interventions and accommodations
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and plans in a timely, compliant manner
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary discussions
- Promote independence, inclusion, and self-advocacy for students in the academic environment
