Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity working with K-12 students as a contract Occupational Therapist. This school-based position starts August 11, 2026, and runs through May 29, 2027. Enjoy an itinerant role serving multiple schools, focused on delivering expert therapy and evaluation services in a supportive, collaborative educational setting. Youll address students diverse needs by participating in direct therapy, conducting OT evaluations, and playing a key role in IEP meetingsmaking a direct impact on both student progress and school teams.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Occupational Therapy license required
  • School-based OT experience strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working with K-12 populationsevaluations and direct therapy
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and special education documentation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and across multiple sites in a week

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students in Grades K-12
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to inform individualized education plans
  • Collaborate actively in IEP meetings, sharing professional insight
  • Travel between assigned schools within the district as an itinerant therapist
  • Maintain detailed, compliant records in adherence to district and legal standards
  • Build positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, and families
