Job Description

Make a lasting impact supporting students through specialized therapy in an engaging school environment near Norfolk, VA. As an Occupational Therapist contracted for a full-time schedule (36.65 hours/week), youll work collaboratively with educators and families to help students achieve their academic and developmental goals.

Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Virginia Occupational Therapist Certification required
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred but not required
  • Strong understanding of school-based OT practices, including IEP development and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and compassionate approach to student support

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs across K-12
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each students goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing insight and recommendations to support student success
  • Maintain detailed records in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Consult regularly with teachers, staff, and families to integrate therapeutic interventions within the classroom
  • Adapt therapy activities and strategies to maximize student participation and progress
