Job Description

This opportunity is for an Occupational Therapist to provide essential support within a K-12 school setting in Sun City, AZ. The position is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week contract role during the current school year, designed to deliver therapeutic services that help students achieve their academic and developmental goals.

Responsibilities include conducting screenings and assessments to identify students' needs, interpreting results, and evaluating student progress. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate closely with IEP teams and parents to communicate findings and contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans. Providing direct services to students to enhance their functional abilities and supporting teachers and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) when assigned are also key parts of the role.

Key qualifications and skills:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school settings, preferably K-12
  • Proficiency in conducting educational assessments and screenings
  • Ability to interpret assessment data and develop actionable plans
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience developing and monitoring IEPs and 504 plans in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ability to provide direct student services and support educational staff when needed
