Embark on a rewarding opportunity providing essential Occupational Therapy services to students at a school near Palmer, AK. This contract position focuses on delivering impactful, in-person therapy throughout the school year, supporting students development and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license for Alaska
- Type C Certification is required
- School-based Occupational Therapy experience strongly preferred
- AK Certification highly regarded
- Comfortable working exclusively onsite (not a remote or VOCO position)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Ability to provide approximately 1,000 minutes of student contact per week
- Organized, proactive, and flexible in managing caseload demands
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students OT needs
- Provide direct interventions and develop individualized treatment plans to promote students functional independence and educational participation
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, other support staff, and families to implement strategies and monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate session notes, progress reports, and required documentation in line with school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and recommendations for occupational therapy services
- Manage a dynamic caseload efficiently across a standard 37.5-hour workweek
