Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active OT license (or eligibility) in the state of Kansas
  • Experience with school-aged children, particularly in a school or pediatric setting
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, families, and administrators
  • Proficient in developing, implementing, and evaluating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Knowledgeable about current evidence-based practices and assistive technology

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess students to determine functional abilities and need for occupational therapy intervention
  • Develop individualized treatment plans targeting fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom-related skills
  • Deliver direct and consultative therapy sessions, adapting to the unique needs of each student
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements
  • Consult with teachers and other professionals to support inclusive learning environments
  • Engage with families to support carryover of strategies beyond the classroom
  • Contribute to IEP meetings and ongoing interdisciplinary team discussions
