Make a direct and meaningful impact in the lives of K12 students as a skilled occupational therapist in a supportive, education-focused environment. This contract opportunity offers a flexible schedule of 28 hours per week split over 34 days, allowing for meaningful engagement while maintaining work-life balance. Located near Okemos, MI, this position lets you collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students achieve their fullest potential throughout the school year.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active OT license in the state of Michigan (OT MI)
- Clinical experience in school settings preferred; experience with K12 age groups highly valued
- Background in OT for home health or broader healthcare settings is a plus
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and student advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess K12 students to identify occupational therapy needs and develop individualized intervention plans
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based therapy sessions in accordance with IEP/504 Plan goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support meaningful student progress
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with school district and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and staff consultations as a knowledgeable resource
