Job Description

Step into a dynamic opportunity as a contract school-based Occupational Therapist in the Norfolk, VA area for the 2026-2027 school year! We're seeking two dedicated professionals to make a difference in the lives of K-12 students across multiple school sites. Your expertise will help students access their education through tailored evaluations and therapy, working closely with educators and families within a supportive, collaborative environment.

This assignment will have you providing individualized therapy and attending IEP meetings, helping to shape positive educational outcomes. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with an itinerant schedule serving diverse age groups and developmental needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Virginia OT license required prior to starting
  • Experience with school-aged children and/or in school settings strongly preferred
  • Skilled in conducting both assessments and direct intervention for K-12 students
  • Comfortable collaborating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team settings
  • Able to travel across assigned schools within the district as needed
  • Up-to-date on all school onboarding, including fingerprint clearance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct OT evaluations and deliver individualized therapy in line with student IEPs
  • Track progress, maintain detailed documentation, and provide regular updates to teams and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings, sharing professional input and recommendations
  • Coordinate with educators and support staff to foster inclusive learning environments
