Job Description

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid and current Occupational Therapist license for New York State
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Prior experience, or strong interest, working in a school-based or pediatric setting
  • Familiarity with IEP development, documentation, and goal setting
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Strong organizational abilities for managing a busy caseload
  • Adaptability and compassion for diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess students functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans
  • Deliver direct and consultative OT services tailored to student goals
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to IEP process
  • Document progress, maintain compliance, and communicate outcomes
  • Educate staff and families on strategies to support student participation in daily school activities
  • Utilize evidence-based practices for interventions and therapy delivery
  • Balance caseload management with ongoing updates to records and reports
