Spend your summer making a difference in the lives of students by providing specialized occupational therapy services for a rewarding extended school year assignment. Work with a dedicated team in a collaborative, school-based environment, helping students with disabilities work toward greater independence and success in their daily school activities.
This contract opportunity runs from July 6 to July 31, working Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 12 pm. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between school years, ensuring continuity of critical support for students in need.
Qualifications:
- Active occupational therapy state license required
- Prior experience delivering OT services in a school setting
- Familiarity with the IDEA, IEP process, and legal documentation standards
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering positive outcomes for students with varying disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to students according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to address fine motor, sensory, self-care, and functional skills
- Maintain timely, accurate session notes, progress reports, and service logs
- Partner with educators, related service providers, and families to deliver cohesive support
- Modify materials and approaches to meet each students unique requirements, both in-school and in the community
