Make a difference in the lives of students as a contract Occupational Therapist for the 2026-27 academic year with a dynamic school-based assignment in the Newport News, VA region. This outstanding opportunity offers a full-time 40-hour workweek, supporting students from pre-K through high school across 3 to 5 campusesall conveniently located within 15 minutes of each other.
Your role will involve utilizing your expertise in school-based occupational therapy to help students access their education successfully. If you hold a current Virginia OT license and are passionate about working collaboratively in educational settings, this position is ideal for you!
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEP goals
- Confidence in working with pre-K through high school age groups
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently across multiple sites
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and provide evidence-based OT interventions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support student progress
- Maintain regular documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
- Travel between 35 nearby schools as needed (all within a short drive)
