Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students as a contract Occupational Therapist for the 2026-27 academic year with a dynamic school-based assignment in the Newport News, VA region. This outstanding opportunity offers a full-time 40-hour workweek, supporting students from pre-K through high school across 3 to 5 campusesall conveniently located within 15 minutes of each other.

Your role will involve utilizing your expertise in school-based occupational therapy to help students access their education successfully. If you hold a current Virginia OT license and are passionate about working collaboratively in educational settings, this position is ideal for you!

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia Occupational Therapist (OT) license
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred
  • Skilled in developing and implementing IEP goals
  • Confidence in working with pre-K through high school age groups
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently across multiple sites
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and provide evidence-based OT interventions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support student progress
  • Maintain regular documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
  • Travel between 35 nearby schools as needed (all within a short drive)
