Opportunities are available for both full-time and part-time schedules, allowing you to shape your work week according to your lifestyle and availability, up to 40 hours per week.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid occupational therapy license in the state of Michigan
- Previous experience supporting students in elementary, middle, or high schools is preferred
- Strong understanding of the unique developmental needs found within school-aged populations
- Effective communication skills for working closely with teachers, administrators, families, and students
- Ability to multitask and manage caseload responsibilities efficiently in a dynamic environment
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments and empowering student independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to identify strengths and areas for support related to movement, sensory processing, and daily school activities
- Develop, implement, and update individualized education programs (IEPs) as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Deliver both direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students
- Document progress, maintain detailed records, and communicate outcomes with educational staff and families
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt classroom activities and recommend assistive devices or modifications
- Advocate for students needs, ensuring equal opportunities and participation within school settings
