Qualifications:
- Valid and current Occupational Therapist license in New York State
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in educational or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP (Individualized Education Program) procedures and documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and staff
- Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced school environment
- Dedication to evidence-based practice and continued professional development
Responsibilities:
- Assess students needs and develop customized intervention plans to promote academic and functional skills
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to integrate therapy goals into daily routines
- Document progress, maintain thorough records, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Provide education and resources to families and staff to facilitate carryover of strategies and accommodations
- Monitor and adjust treatment approaches based on ongoing student progress and feedback
