Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide support and therapy services within a school setting located in Newark, NY. This contract position offers the opportunity to work directly with students to enhance their ability to perform daily school activities and improve overall functioning.
Responsibilities:
- Assess students needs and develop individual occupational therapy plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress
- Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate student records
- Participate in meetings and provide recommendations for student accommodations
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license or certification
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create customized treatment plans based on individual student needs
- Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy techniques
