Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Current Occupational Therapy license valid for New York state
  • Experience in a K12 school environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEPs and related documentation
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques for diverse student needs and abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized therapy plans for students
  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services in accordance with students IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to optimize student participation and progress
  • Document therapy sessions, maintain records, and report on student outcomes in compliance with school policies
  • Offer guidance on adaptive equipment and classroom modifications to support accessibility
  • Attend IEP meetings and contribute to the educational planning process
  • Deliver consultative services to teachers and staff as needed
