Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a smaller, close-knit district located just 40 miles east of Albuquerque. With a total of 500 students in Special Education, youll have the chance to make a truly meaningful impact alongside a collaborative and compassionate team. The districts OT needs include both a full-time and a part-time position.

As an Occupational Therapist in this supportive environment, youll primarily work across two elementary schools and provide services for additional students at the nearby high school, conveniently located within walking distance. Caseloads are designed to be manageable and impactful: 19 students at Moriarty Elementary, 15 at Route 66 Elementary, and 2 high school students with more intensive needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license and eligibility to practice in New Mexico
  • Prior experience in pediatric, school-based, or educational settings preferred
  • Documented progress within the PED licensure process (please ensure to provide this)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to adapt services to individual student needs
  • Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary special education team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized therapy to students in accordance with IEP goals
  • Develop and implement OT plans, track progress, and adjust strategies as needed
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families
  • Document all required treatment and student progress, ensuring compliance with district and state standards
