Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students ages 3-21 throughout a vibrant school community in the southwest Houston area. This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or a highly experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) ready to provide essential school-based services.

Full-time hours (37.5 per week) let you immerse yourself in student care and collaborate closely with your assigned zone of 6-7 campuses, ensuring travel is considerate of your home ZIP code.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Texas OT or COTA license required
  • Prior school-based or strong pediatric experience essential (multiple years preferred for COTAs)
  • Must be comfortable handling a varied caseload, documentation, and working independently
  • Ability to conduct evaluations, provide consultative and direct services, and attend ARDs
  • District will not consider former employees
  • Fingerprinting required for onboarding (those already in the system may qualify)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage a balanced caseload (~70, with 30-40 students receiving direct therapy and the remainder consultative services on a rotating basis)
  • Complete assessments, progress documentation (using SHARES, Onward, and Excel logs for IEPs), and participate in ARD meetings
  • Deliver therapy as prescribedprimarily treatment focusedwithout additional COTA support
  • Adhere to district schedules (typically 8:004:00 or 7:303:30), and work fully onsite with flexible assignment of campuses based on your area
  • Maintain timely, compliant documentation and collaborate with the lead OT
