Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing part-time occupational therapy services within welcoming educational environments near Michigan City, IN. This role is focused on supporting students for coverage at SELF school in Valparaiso, as well as in Portage. As an OT or certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA), youll play a vital role in helping children develop key functional skills within the school setting.

This assignment begins on May 5, 2026, and concludes on June 5, 2026, ideal for professionals seeking a short-term placement with an immediate impact. Youll work two days per week (Monday through Friday window) from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, totaling 14 hours weekly.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid OT or COTA licensure (please submit your license and resume for consideration)
  • Previous experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy is highly preferred
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and families
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Implement interventions to enhance students functional abilities in educational routines
  • Maintain clinical documentation and collaborate with school teams regarding student progress
  • Support a diverse caseload across multiple school sites
