Exciting opportunity for a passionate Occupational Therapist to make a meaningful impact within a supportive school community near Massillon, OH! This contract position allows you to work collaboratively with a diverse student population across elementary, middle, and high school settings. Use your expertise to empower students, help them reach their full potential, and foster independence in daily living and academic tasks.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Ohio Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Previous school-based OT experience preferred; knowledge of IEP process a plus
- Experience working with children from elementary through high school age groups
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to design and implement therapeutic activities that align with educational goals
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations, interventions, and recommendations for students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Deliver therapy services individually and in small groups, targeting fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and classroom participation
- Monitor student progress, maintain progress notes and required documentation
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development as required
- Adapt equipment or modify environments to enhance student access and success
