Job Description
A full-time Occupational Therapist position is available in a school setting located in Lowell, MA. This contract role focuses on providing specialized support to students with severe disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their functional skills within the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans tailored to students with severe disabilities.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students motor, sensory, and cognitive abilities.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to integrate therapy goals into daily classroom activities.
- Provide direct therapy services aimed at enhancing fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive techniques.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license.
- Proven experience working with students with severe disabilities in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic interventions suitable for educational environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional communication and documentation skills.
- Commitment to supporting students academic and functional development.
