Job Description

Step into a vibrant school-based setting in the San Fernando Valley and use your occupational therapy expertise to make a meaningful impact on K-12 students. This full-time contract opportunity begins August 11, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027, providing you with the chance to work directly with learners of diverse abilities while collaborating with dedicated educators and support staff. As part of this role, youll have the flexibility to work at one or more campuses, as assignments may be itinerant and caseloads will vary across the K-12 range.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Valid, active California OT license required
  • Prior experience or training in educational or school-based OT preferred
  • Familiarity with educational terminology, standardized assessments, and the Special Education process
  • Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and environments with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to upholding state and district guidelines for school-based therapies

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy services to students, addressing a range of needs and supporting their educational success
  • Administer, interpret, and report on standardized assessments as part of the IEP process
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers
  • Maintain detailed documentation, progress notes, and required records in compliance with district and state standards
  • Stay informed on CDE guidelines and best practices for OT in school settings
  • Serve as a resource for educational staff, ensuring students needs are met through strategic intervention
