Step into a rewarding contract opportunity to make a difference as a School Occupational Therapist in a vibrant educational setting. This position, set just outside Lawrence, MA and based in Andover, runs from July 6, 2026, to August 13, 2026, with a supportive Monday through Thursday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (22 hours per week). You'll impact students from PreK through high school, focusing on social-emotional growth, behavioral support, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) interventions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Prior school-based OT experience, particularly with PreK, elementary, and high school-aged students
- Background supporting students with social-emotional, behavioral, and ASD needs
- Familiarity with designing and implementing individualized, goal-oriented therapy plans
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams and families
- Flexible mindset and adaptability to support diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to students IEP goals, with an emphasis on those with ASD, social-emotional needs, and behavioral challenges
- Conduct assessments and develop progress-monitoring strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to foster student success and independence
- Document and communicate therapeutic progress in compliance with state and district requirements
- Offer consultative support and resources to school personnel for inclusive classroom participation
