Job Description
Provide specialized occupational therapy services in an educational setting, supporting students developmental and functional needs to enhance their participation and success in school activities. This full-time, in-person role involves managing a caseload of approximately 30 students, primarily at the elementary level, within a contract position located in Las Cruces, NM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized occupational therapy plans tailored to student goals.
- Deliver direct therapy services to students at elementary, middle, and high school levels, focusing on enhancing motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy goals within the school environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and parent conferences to discuss student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with relevant state certification.
- Experience working within school settings, preferably with children at the elementary level.
- Strong understanding of educational regulations and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently and with a student-centered approach.
