Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students' growth and development as an Occupational Therapist working full-time with a diverse group of learners. In this school-based contract position, you'll have the opportunity to use your expertise to empower children and teens across elementary, middle, and high school settings. With a manageable caseload of approximately 30 studentsmost of whom are in elementaryyoull play a key role in fostering academic success and independence.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Occupational Therapist licensure in New Mexico
  • Prior school-based experience is preferred
  • Skilled in collaborating with teachers, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Able to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Proficient in documentation and progress reporting
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students per IEP requirements
  • Assess and diagnose student needs using standardized tools and professional judgment
  • Collaborate with educators and specialists to support classroom participation and motor skill development
  • Create engaging therapy sessions tailored to each student's needs and goals
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and reports
  • Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, offering expertise on accommodations and modifications
  • Guide teachers and caregivers on strategies that promote student success in school and daily activities

This is an on-site, contract opportunity working 37.5 hours per week during regular school hours, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the school community and see your students' progress firsthand.
