This part-time contract position offers you the chance to make a difference in the lives of children aged 2-18 at a welcoming pediatric outpatient clinic. Youll enjoy flexible hours and the potential to extend your contract or even transition into a permanent role.
In this role, youll work one-on-one with children presenting with mild to moderate delays, including high-functioning autism. The focus will be on helping young clients strengthen pragmatic, receptive, and expressive language skills, as well as developing reading and writing abilities. Your expertise will empower families and help children achieve greater independence and success.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in Florida
- Current Medicaid provider number
- Experience in school or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of assessment and therapy for mild-to-moderate developmental and communication delays
- Ability to deliver individualized therapy and participate as a member of IEP teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and evaluations
- Provide direct therapy to children ages 2-18 in a 1:1 setting
- Address concerns related to pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading, writing, and developmental delays
- Support children with high-functioning autism
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend IEP meetings, and provide ongoing progress reports
