Exciting opportunities await for a skilled Occupational Therapist interested in a contract role in sunny South Florida. This position is based in a vibrant pediatric outpatient clinic near Key Largo, serving a diverse caseload of children ages 218 with mild to moderate needs. Expect an engaging work environment where you will make a direct impact, working closely with childrenprimarily presenting with high-functioning autismfocusing on areas such as pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading, writing, and developmental delays.
This role starts as a part-time position (7.5 hours per week) with real potential to grow to two days weekly as the caseload expands. If you are seeking stability, theres also the possibility of contract extension or transition to a permanent position after a successful year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Florida Occupational Therapy license required
- Medicaid provider number (active and in good standing)
- Experience in pediatric settings, ideally with school-based or outpatient clinic experience
- Comfortable conducting assessments, evaluations, and providing direct therapy
- Ability to attend and contribute to IEP meetings
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to individual client needs
- Passion for helping children achieve developmental milestones and success in academic and daily life
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students occupational therapy needs
- Deliver personalized, one-on-one therapy sessions
- Develop and implement treatment plans for mild to moderate cases, including children with high-functioning autism
- Document progress and participate in IEP processes in collaboration with school teams
- Adapt therapy strategies to support receptive and expressive language, social pragmatics, and fine motor skills
