An opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services within a school setting in Joliet, IL. This contract position focuses on supporting students with diverse needs to enhance their functional skills and promote educational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students motor, sensory, and cognitive abilities to develop individualized intervention plans
- Implement therapeutic activities designed to improve fine motor skills, coordination, and self-care abilities
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support students' progress and adapt interventions as needed
- Document therapy sessions, maintain accurate records, and provide regular updates on student progress
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to individualized education program (IEP) planning
Required Skills and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based settings
- Proficiency in developing and executing therapy plans tailored to childrens educational goals
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to assess and address a range of developmental and physical challenges in a school environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation abilities
