Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by delivering occupational therapy services to elementary and high school students in a supportive educational setting. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to work directly with a diverse caseload, collaborating closely with teachers, families, and support staff to empower students in achieving their academic and developmental goals.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) license required
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois or eligibility preferred
  • Previous experience working in school-based settings, particularly with elementary and high school students
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
  • Solid understanding of IEP processes and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and adaptive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students
  • Implement therapy sessions focused on improving functional, social, and academic skills
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor student progress toward IEP goals
  • Document and maintain accurate records of assessments, progress notes, and therapy outcomes
  • Provide consultative support to classroom teachers and school staff on accommodations and modifications
  • Communicate regularly with families to ensure coordinated and effective therapeutic services
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and objectives
