An exciting contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist eager to make a meaningful impact in a pediatric outpatient clinic setting. Located in vibrant South Florida, this role focuses on supporting children and adolescents aged 2 to 18 with mild to moderate developmental needs, primarily working one-on-one with each child. Most clients have high-functioning autism and may experience challenges in areas such as pragmatics, receptive and expressive language, reading, writing, and overall developmental delays.
The contract spans one year, with the potential to extend or transition into a permanent placement for the right candidate. Hours are part-time and offer a high degree of flexibility, allowing you to balance your professional and personal commitments. As an integral member of the clinic team, you will collaborate closely with educational staff and families, attend IEP meetings, and help chart personalized progress for each client.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Florida Occupational Therapist (OT) license is required.
- Must possess an active Medicaid provider number.
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric outpatient clinic is highly valued.
- Strong background in assessments, evaluations, and therapy planning for children with mild to moderate needs.
- Competent working independently with children diagnosed with high-functioning autism.
- Able to tailor interventions to enhance communication, social skills, academic performance, and daily living activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments and evaluations.
- Provide direct therapy services to individual children.
- Address pragmatic, receptive, expressive, and academic delays.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings.
- Maintain meticulous records and contribute to client progress reports.
