Make a meaningful difference in the school community by supporting K-12 students as an Occupational Therapist. This contract position is ideal for a skilled professional passionate about empowering children to achieve greater independence and success in the classroom environment. Youll collaborate with educators, students, and families to assess needs, craft and implement personalized therapy plans, and track progress toward individual goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapy license for Pennsylvania
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (or higher)
- Prior experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations
- Strong understanding of IEP procedures and related documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt interventions to diverse student needs and abilities
- Exceptional organizational and record-keeping abilities
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students fine motor, sensory, and self-care needs
- Collaborate with teachers and special educators to develop effective intervention strategies
- Design and implement individualized therapy plans for students
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise on occupational therapy services
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in classroom, group, and one-on-one settings
- Provide training and resources for educational staff and families
- Monitor student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
