Key Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Occupational Therapist license required
- Previous experience in a school setting or working with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong knowledge of conducting evaluations and providing direct therapy services
- Ability to participate effectively in IEP meetings and complete relevant documentation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working as part of an itinerant team, traveling between school sites
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services directly to students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Assess student needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Conduct timely evaluations to determine eligibility and therapy goals
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families during IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and adhere to district requirements
- Travel to assigned schools to ensure students across the district receive consistent care
- Contribute to an interdisciplinary approach for student success
